Solo Guitar is a quilt art wall hanging design representing a stylized image of a classical acoustic guitar. The central panel is constructed in rows, forming colorful horizontal stripes in the background behind the guitar. Optional top stitching is used to suggest guitar strings. The border is made from 24 small blocks of concentric squares surrounding a diamond center. The border design is suggestive of the rosette patterns that are often inlaid around a guitar’s sound hole.
The wall hanging measures 30 inches wide and 54 inches tall, not including the binding. While it takes some time to put this design together, most of the construction is very simple. The only challenging aspect of the design lies with the diagonal seams that create the illusion of curves around the perimeter of the guitar body. But a straightforward method for cutting and piecing those seams is diagrammed and explained in detail in this pattern.
This 12-page PDF pattern includes many colored diagrams, detailed instructions, color selection tips, yardage requirements and a chart of pieces to cut for the wall hanging—everything you need to successfully create this beautiful work of art with your own special touch.
When you purchase this pattern, you will also receive my free 5-page PDF tool for calculating yardage, shown in the last product image. The Yardage Calculator will not only guide you in determining your yardage requirements, but it will also guide you in cutting pieces for your quilt from strips. You can use this tool with any quilt pattern, not just with my designs.
